Three ways to add an FAQ accordion

  1. Theme section, if it exists. Open Online Store → Customize → Add section. Many themes, including Dawn 2.0+, ship a "Collapsible content" block. If yours has it, use it. Do not install an app on top of it.
  2. One file in the theme. Add a snippet or a Custom Liquid block, paste the accordion, edit the questions. It works on a dedicated FAQ page, inside a product description, or in a drawer. You own the file — a theme update does not take it away, and there is no subscription to renew.
  3. A monthly FAQ app. Reasonable only if you need search inside hundreds of questions, category management, or per-language analytics. For the 6–10 questions every store actually gets asked, it is a subscription for a collapse animation.

Why most pasted accordions get it wrong

No FAQ schema. The accordion renders fine, but Google never shows the questions in search results because the page ships no structured data. Wrap each question and answer in FAQPage JSON-LD on the same page. That is the difference between an FAQ section and an FAQ section that shows up in Google.

Raw HTML stripped by the editor. Pasting HTML into a rich-text field can get cleaned on save. Paste the accordion as a snippet or a Custom Liquid block instead, and it survives editing.

One giant accordion for everything. Put shipping questions where shipping doubts appear and product questions on product pages. Ten relevant answers beat thirty scattered ones — and the schema stays accurate.
